Midland Individual and Organization Honored by State Bar of Texas

DALLAS – Presentation of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 25-26 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

The following from Midland are among those being honored: Natasha Brooks, Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) President's Award of Merit, presented by outgoing TYLA President Sylvia Cardona of San Antonio. In addition to coordinating TYLA's participation in the St. Mary's University Minority Pre-Law Student Symposium, Brooks was instrumental in creating "Vote America! Honor the Fight, Exercise Your Right." She assisted with scriptwriting, conducted expert interviews in Washington, D.C. and was a motivated and energetic force in finalizing and implementing the project.

Lynch, Chappell & Alsup, P.C., a Presidential Citation, presented by outgoing State Bar of Texas President Harper Estes of Midland, for supporting the State Bar of Texas and the ideals of professionalism, public service, and volunteerism.

The State Bar of Texas is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Texas that provides educational programs for the legal profession and the public, administers the minimum continuing legal education program for attorneys, and manages the attorney discipline system.
