Waxahachie Individual Honored by State Bar of Texas

DALLAS – Presentation of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 20-21 at the Hilton Anatole.

Ron Bunch, a sole practitioner in Waxahachie, is being honored with the State Bar of Texas Presidents’ Award.
The Presidents’ Award is presented to a member of the State Bar determined to have rendered outstanding service to the State Bar. Nominations for the award are made by the State Bar Board, and the final selection of the award winner is made on the advice of the past presidents.

Ron Bunch has selflessly served the Texas legal profession since first joining the Local Bar Services Committee, a body in which he served as both vice chair and chair. Bunch’s service continued representing District 7 on the State Bar Board of Directors from 2004 to 2007. Bunch joined the Commission for Lawyer Discipline and served as both vice chair and chair. His contributions to the lawyers of Texas are immeasurable. As chair of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline, Bunch has demonstrated exceptional leadership, has thoughtfully considered tough decisions made to protect the public, and has helped to institute programs to rehabilitate lawyers.

The State Bar of Texas is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Texas that provides educational programs for the legal profession and the public, administers the minimum continuing legal education program for attorneys, and manages the attorney discipline system.
