State Bar of Texas Presents Law Day Awards to Texas School Students

(Austin) – The State Bar of Texas and Texas Young Lawyers Association will present awards to Texas school students selected as winners of the annual Law Day contest at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 1, at the Texas Law Center, 1414 Colorado St., Austin.

“A Legacy of Liberty – Celebrating Lincoln’s Bicentennial” is this year’s national Law Day theme. Law Day, established in 1958 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, challenges students to understand how the rule of law impacts their daily lives and to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in our democracy.

State Bar President Harper Estes and President-Elect Roland Johnson will present the awards, with prizes ranging from $50 - $1,000.
