Submission Directions
The filing requirements for public media advertisements
and solicitation communications are outlined in Rule 7.07 of the Texas Disciplinary
Rules of Professional Conduct (TDRPC). When submitting something for
review, please send the materials outlined below to one of the following
addresses:
For US Postal Service deliveries:

There are a variety of items that must be submitted for
each different type of advertisement or solicitation communication sent
to the Advertising Review Committee for review.
Remember that if you are submitting more than one
advertisement, EACH advertisement requires a SEPARATE application packet.
If more than one lawyer who are from different firms are submitting the
same advertisement, EACH one needs to submit the advertisement SEPARATELY.
Print Advertisements (magazine, newspaper, telephone directory, etc.)
submissions must contain the following:
1. One original AND one copy of the advertisement;
2. One original AND one copy of the translation of an advertisement,
if presented in a language other than English;
3. One original AND one copy of the completed application
form (downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
5. A payment in the amount of $75.00 for each advertisement
submitted*; and,
5. If the advertisement is presented in a language other
than English, please send one original and one copy of the translated material.
Television, Internet Video, Internet Audio and Radio
Advertisements submissions must contain the following:
1. One original AND one copy of the production script in
English;
2. If in a language other than English, one original AND
one copy of the production script in whatever language in which the advertisement
is presented;
3. One original AND one copy of the completed application
form (downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
4. A payment in the amount of $75.00 for each advertisement
submitted*; and,
5. One recording of the advertisement either on DVD or VHS
cassette for television commercials or Internet video advertisements or
CD or cassette tape for radio or Internet audio advertisements, if submitted
at the same time it is aired on television or radio or posted online.
For television advertisements or Internet videos, please make
sure the production script shows BOTH the video AND audio components of
the advertisement.
Internet Website Advertisements submissions must contain
the following:
1. One original AND one copy of the print out of the initial
access page (homepage) or banner advertisement and web site to which it
is linked (make sure the printed copy includes all images and text appearing
on the page);
2. If in a language other than English, one original AND
one copy of the translation of the materials indicated in number one;
3. One original AND one copy of the completed application
form (downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
and,
4. A payment in the amount of $75.00 for each advertisement
submitted*.

more information about requirements for websites and other Internet advertisements.
Solicitation Communications Materials (letters, emails,
faxes, newsletters and brochures) submissions must contain the following:
1. One original AND one copy of the written solicitation;
2. One original AND one copy of the written solicitation
in English, if the letter is in a language other than English;
3. One original AND one copy of the envelope or packaging
in which the solicitation will be sent to the recipient;
4. One original AND one copy of the completed application
form (downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
5. One original AND one copy of the completed Addendum (also
downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
and,
6. A payment in the amount of $75.00 for each advertisement
submitted*.
Billboard Advertisements
1. One original AND one copy of the billboard advertisement;
2. One original AND one copy of the billboard ad, if presented
in a language other than English;
3. One original and one copy of the completed application
form (downloadable from www.texasbar.com/adreview);
4. If the advertisement is presented in a language other
than English, please send one original and one copy of the translated material.
5. A payment in the amount of $75.00 for each advertisement
submitted*.
*The $75.00 fee can be paid by using a check or money
order payable to the State Bar of Texas or by using one of the following
credit card types: American Express, MasterCard or Visa.
If submitting more than one advertisement, each $75 review
fee payment can be consolidated onto one check.
If submitting more than one radio, television or Internet
audio or video advertisement, the ads can be recorded onto one compact disc
or audiocassette for radio or Internet audio advertisements or one DVD or
VHS cassette for television or Internet video advertisements.
